that's a maternity top

top: thrifted // jeans: Urban Outfitters // shoes: bc shoes

The cute polka dotted shirt was at Goodwill for under $5. I didn't really bother trying it on; Goodwill was closing soon, so I held it up to me. Looks good.

However, after it took a spin through the washer and I tried it on for the first time I realized the shirt was really long.

Really really long.

And when I peeked at the tag on the side, the shirt said maternity.

Nice.

So, yes, I'm wearing a maternity top. And no, I'm not even close to being pregnant.

Oh, dear husband, don't worry-- this was an inadvertent purchase; I'm not trying to send you signals.

xo, erika
p.s.  i'm over here today and sharing a discount code to shop... may want to go check it out. :)

  1. Haha! Love it. I actually have a few tops that I kept after the babies were born because they work as regular shirts if fixed just so, and nobody has to know they're actually maternity tops. ;)

  9. So, I was browsing Target the other day and found this ADORABLE dress on clearance for $9. "WOO HOO" I thought, as I started to put it in my cart until I read "maternity" on the label.

    *sigh*

In your shirt's defense, it doesn't look maternity at all and you can totally belt it until you're ready to use it (if that's in your plan) for it's designed purpose. ;)

  11. Haha! So funny... and still so cute! I actually had a roommate in college who would buy maternity clothes on purpose-- she found awesome deals, and she just liked the way they looked!

  12. This is GORGEOUS! I love that shirt. I buy maternity clothing on purpose. The clothing is meant to fit well, yet stretch. Look cute, yet feel amazingly comfortable. Score, score in my book! :D

  20. I quite love maternity clothes. I found a dress in a Salvation Army Op shop which was maternity. It fit like a dream but I didn't end up buying it...

  21. New follower from Rags to Stitches! I had a baby six months ago, lost the weight within a month, but still wear my maternity clothes. Not cause I need to, but because they are so dang comfy.
