saturday snapshot (take 6)

(this post was previously recorded...) ;)

Saturday Snapshot: around the house

I did not plant those. They literally sprung up overnight. Last year, my garden was here and I filled this little area with dirt and compost and all that stuff that plants love. But it was a little too shady and my garden didn't really grow.

At the suggestion of my mother-in-law I moved my garden to the front yard...and forgot about my old garden plot until I was out there (our backyard is a tad wild right now) and saw the largest foxgloves in my life.

They are taller than me.  They are taller than the husband.
And they are for sure taller than my short-legged pup.

Amazing what nature can do, right?

p.s. we're a little over 80 followers... when we reach 100 I'm going to do a special Seattle giveaway you won't want to miss (i.e. involves chocolate & coffee) ;)

saturday snapshot (take 5)

Happy Saturday and snapshot day with Yellow Songbird!

Today I'm giving a shoutout to my dear dear friend Betsy who has been with me through a lot.

She may kill me for posting this photo...

but this is from when we were camp counselors at a Young Life camp several years ago and to me, kind of sums up our friendship...

And here's a better shot of us at my wedding...

And now it's her turn to get married... in two weeks! I. can. not. wait.

I rarely get to see her anymore because she lives in San Diego while her fiance attends law school so photos of us together are even more precious.

I love you Betsy! Happy almost wedding day!
Please don't be too angry about the above photo... :)

saturday snapshot (take 4)

This is probably one of my favorite linky parties.

So I have a one-year old doggie who is actually quite insane. It's like living with a toddler that puts everything in his mouth and gets into everything.  (Like last night when he somehow got into the shower and snagged the loofah and sauntered downstairs with it clutched in his teeth.)

But when we first got him he was a little tiny baby that fell asleep in weird places:

**these are iPhone photos so sorry for the fuzzy factor!!

Go see the other shots at Yellow Songbird today!

saturday snapshot (take 2)

I'm linking up again to lovely Kim of Oh Sweet Joy for Saturday Snapshot. This is honestly one of my favorite linky parties because who doesn't love sharing and looking through photos? (Kudos Kim!!)

Story behind this shot? My first and only fishing experience was at age 19 on a boat in the middle of the Pacific Ocean with my best friend and her family. Her dad paid for us to go a deep sea fishing excursion while we were in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. And no joke, I caught this marlin (with the help of the lovely gentlemen on either side of me.) It was catch and release so this big guy just stayed around for the photo shoot before going back into the water. But it's evidence of what my brother says is "baller status." I show it off to people when they question my tough exterior.

Be sure to see all the other Saturday Snapshots today!

saturday snapshot

I'm linking up with the multi-talented Kim of Oh Sweet Joy! for Snapshot Saturday. If you haven't checked out her shop-- you should... really should especially because she has a sale going on now... :)

A lot of my friends are getting married and taking really cute engagement photos which, of course, makes me want to get engaged all over again-- even though I think my engagement photos are quite cute.

Here's one of my absolute favorites:

This was taken in the Suzallo Library at the University of Washington in Seattle (where we met!)
Luckily it was during spring break so no one was around studying and wondering what we were doing taking photos in a library!
The library was built in the 1920s and looks more like a cathedral than a place to study and is one of my absolute places on campus... even more after this photo was taken.
