Once upon a fifth grade I got glasses for seeing the board. And I was a little excited at first until I realized that glasses weren't cool.
Fast forward to high school when glasses for seeing the board turned into glasses for all the time and contacts became my obvious choice.
From then I just wore glasses when I had to, like when I'm sick or when my contacts just straight won't stick in my eyes. But what I've noticed lately is that glasses are in-- geeky is cool.
And when Firmoo said I could try a pair for free, I thought why not?
I like 'em-- I really do-- and I feel smarter wearing them, but I'm not quite sure I'm a glasses convert yet but maybe I'll rock 'em a little more often. (I'm wearing these fyi)
They are a tad big for my face and I have to push them up on my nose if I look down too fast, but I think with a little tweaking at a local eyewear shop will make them perfect.

I think I was around the same age when I had to get glasses, unfortunately, my glasses were super nerdy back then, they were all oval shaped, and weird looking. I think nowadays glasses can be way better looking!

ReplyDeleteGlasses can totally be cool. :) I hated my first glasses. Well, I loved them when I picked them out. Sally Jesse Raphael-ish but purple. When I went to school they got dissed big time. Love affair over. I put them away and was damn near blind for the next 8 years because I was ashamed and my mom couldn't afford different glasses for me. Now as an adult (and thanks to Coastal Contacts kick ass prices) I have a bunch of rad glasses. I haven't tried Firmoo for myself yet but keep hearing good things!

I only have had them for two months and find it painful to try to live without them (like now). You look wonderful in your glasses though!! How lovely your top is too!

ReplyDeleteI'm the opposite in that I always wanted glasses when I was little, and when I finally needed them when I was 23, I was SO HAPPY!
You look cuuute! I'm so in love with the geek chic look lately. I got a new pair of glasses from Warby Parker, and they wanted to slide off my face when I looked down. A quick stop by my local optometrist, and they fit great now!
