One of the things I love most about my house is in the backyard.
In the far corner is an enormous willow tree -- bigger, I think, than any willow I've seen and we think it was planted when the house was built: 1942.
It has huge thick branches, perfect for climbing, perfect for sitting under, perfect for future kids' forts (far far future) and I have the spot picked out for the perfect swing.
This tree is also perfect for climbing in heels. You may not be able to tell but my sandals have a little wedge heel on it. Being the cautious adult that he is, the husband worried the entire time I was climbing into the tree and climbing down. However, I'm glad to report there was no injuries of any kind from this certain adventure. I just have a new talent to brag about: heel tree climbing.

ReplyDeleteAm I a history dork if my first thought was that someone planted this in your yard the same year the U.S. was entering WWII? It brought up a really romantic image in my mind that some husband or son planted it for his wife or mother just before he shipped off, to keep her company! P.S. You're the cutest.
ReplyDeletenow THAT is an awesome location for outfit pics!!! go erika!!
